Tiny House Guide

Everything we learned designing, building, and living in 300 square feet.

In 2017, we designed and built a custom tiny house on wheels in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. We documented the entire process -- from zoning research to move-in day -- because we couldn't find the resources we needed when we were starting out. This guide is everything we wish we'd had.

A note: Our tiny house was lost in the 2020 Northern California wildfires. This content is preserved as a resource for anyone considering a tiny house build. The lessons, the research, and the experience are still as relevant as the day we wrote them. We've since relocated to Black Mountain, NC and built Asheville Forest Baths.
